The Audio Visual Tech services all Departments and all Buildings on Butler Campus. Adheres to Butler Hospital Service Standards.

Union, Part Time 20 hours typically between 7am to 4pm, with weekends and holidays as needed for events.

  • Maintains all audio-visual equipment and arranges acquisition of new equipment.
  • Coordinates and oversees daily audio-visual activities in the AV Department.
  • Orients and instructs proper techniques for utilization of the equipment.
  • Carries out policies and priorities of the AV Department and attends meetings as requested for special projects.
  • Oversees and/or provided technical assistance in the development of educational/informational and special projects for the hospital and staff.
  • Observes all general hospital policies, guiding principles, rules, and regulations.
  • Consistently adheres to Butler Hospitals' service standards.
  • Keeps repair logs on all equipment and use; maintains a sign-out log of all video library tapes and videotape usage.
  • Keeps and maintains files of patient video consent forms.
  • Aids in showing films and tapes, keeps an orderly schedule of studio sign-up times, and assists in obtaining special subject .
  • Maintains inventory and budget of audio-visual, video and photography supplies and equipment.
  • Knows how to use all equipment; schedules, delivers, and sets up all equipment including carousel, overheard and 16mm projectors, screens, audio systems, video systems, and monitors.
  • Maintains and cleans equipment, repairs any malfunctioning equipment within our capabilities and oversees the completion of outside repairs.
  • Records, dubs, and converts videotapes, monitors tapings of family meetings and group sessions.
  • Produces and edits videotapes for Inservice educational projects, either within the studio or on location within the hospital.
  • Assists in the preparation of camera-ready graphics, poster sessions. Photographs and processes black-and-white slide and produce publication materials for faculty and staff.
  • Periodically checks and maintains observation cameras and monitors.
  • Observes all relevant risk management, infection control and safety policies and procedures.
  • Attends orientation and ongoing Inservice education as required.
  • Participates in applicable quality improvement activities.
  • Train other employees as needed.

Performs other duties as required and support EVS as needed.

Demonstrates competence and compassion in day-to-day interactions with patients, family members, or friends that may be present, either as patients or visitors at Butler Hospital.

II. Qualifications

Education: High School diploma, Preferred AV Certified.

Experience: 2 years (Video Editing, Soundboard/Mixer, Videographer, Photographer). Must show thorough knowledge of AV skills.

Must have a valid driver's license.

Training and Experience: Ability to follow oral and written instructions. On the job training is provided
