Job description Data Entry and Laboratory administrative support

Job Title: Data Entry Clinical Lab

Job Location: Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital (RREH) Clinical Laboratory.

Employment Type: Full-time (40 hours per week Monday-Friday with seasonal overtime possible).

Position Summary: The position will be responsible for both data entry and clerical aspects of the functioning of the Clinical laboratory: The position reports directly to the Director of Laboratory Services.

Key Responsibilities:

Data entry comprising sample accessioning into ezyVet and Orchard Enterprise which together form the laboratory information system.

Clerical duties related to collation of data for client record keeping and billing.

Communication with clients (veterinarians, owners) for the relaying of results when necessary.

Communication with the clinical and financial departments of RREH.

Qualifications:

Completed secondary education (postgraduate an advantage). Previous employment in an equine-related field (farm, veterinary clinic) desirable.

Proven record of strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high levels of accuracy in a variably-paced laboratory environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Exemplary documentation and maintenance of laboratory records within a computerized laboratory information system.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Ability to lift 20lbs.

Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
