Why does the job exist?
The Program Management Supervisor / Behavioral Health Operations will:
Oversee the management, coordination, resources and operational activities of the Behavioral Health Services Division (BHSD) Behavioral Health (BH) Regional Operations.
How does it get done?
Medicaid behavioral health services are a component of New Mexico's Medicaid program, Turquoise Care, which integrates physical health, behavioral health and long-term care for those enrolled.
The Program Management Supervisor / Behavioral Health Operations is responsible for:
Coordinating BHSD management of the assigned BH regional plan activities. These efforts will play a key role in the operations of the BH Region by developing and planning strategies for mental health promotion, substance abuse prevention and treatment;
Working with statewide community groups, key stakeholders including tribal partners and agencies across state government that provide funding or have programs related to behavioral health across New Mexico to achieve these goals;
Establishing program systems, structures, and policies and procedures, with a focus on maintaining and improving efficiency, effectiveness and quality of services while ensuring programs address the needs of New Mexico citizens;
Participation in forecasting and the development budgets, staffing, operational plans; departmental and organizational development; and collaboration with other agencies and departments;
Participation in legislative activities, such as bill analysis, testifying in front of legislative committees and communicating with legislators; and stakeholder engagement;
Working to maintain and improve external relationships through engagement opportunities and cross-cutting projects;
Ensuring statutory deadlines are met, services are efficiently executed, all programs achieve goals and are operating within the guidelines of federal/state laws, regulations and department policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited college or university and six (6) years of professional level experience with a tactical impact directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling ten (10) years may substitute for the required education and experience
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Working Conditions
Office setting, exposure to VisualNideo Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting.
