CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Student Support

  • Assist students with academic assignments in a learning center or classroom setting.
  • Monitor and track student progress in core subjects (e.g., reading and math).
  • Support small-group or individualized instruction based on student needs.
  • Provide feedback on student work, including grading when appropriate.
  • Reinforce classroom management structures to ensure a positive learning environment.
  • Guide students in reaching curriculum and learning goals through coaching and encouragement.

Teacher & Instructional Support

  • Collaborate with teachers to implement instructional strategies aligned to campus priorities.
  • Support lesson internalization by helping teachers plan student practice tasks, scaffolds, and exemplars.
  • Model evidence-based instructional moves such as multiple response strategies and gradual release.
  • Assist teachers in interpreting assessment data and using it to plan instruction.
  • Provide coaching conversations and on-the-spot feedback when directed by campus leadership.
  • Support professional development efforts through training sessions, PLCs, and instructional walks.

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Provide classroom coverage for teacher absences when needed and when scheduling allows.
  • Assist with campus initiatives, committees, school events, and family engagement activities.
  • Ensure student objectives and instructional plans are aligned and documented in systems such as Team Center.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by campus leadership.

KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Instructional Skills

  • Understanding of instructional strategies, student learning processes, and differentiation techniques.

Communication

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to support students, collaborate with staff, and engage families when necessary.

Technical Literacy

  • Proficiency with educational technology tools, student learning platforms, and data systems.

Organizational Skills

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage responsibilities, and maintain accurate records.

Collaboration

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to support campus goals and instructional alignment.

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Valid Texas Teaching Certificate or equivalent education/experience required.
  • Demonstrated successful classroom or instructional support experience preferred.

Job Type: Full-time
