Greenbaum Breuer and Associates is a high-volume Social Security disability law firm located in downtown New Orleans, specializing in Social Security Disability law. We are seeking a full-time Document Clerk to handle a variety of tasks that will help keep the office running smoothly. Organization, time management, attention to detail, and multi-tasking are essential skills for this position.

Document Clerks are responsible for managing, organizing, and maintaining company records and documents. They ensure that files are properly stored, easily accessible, and comply with organizational or legal requirements. The clerk will also be responsible for electronic, fax, and email submissions to the hearings office and facilitating communications to clients.

Job Duties Include:

  • Coding and scanning all medical evidence (via mail, email and fax) into shared drive and uploading to client database.
  • Submitting evidence electronically to the Social Security Administration for cases at the Initial, pre-hearing, and hearing level.
  • Submitting evidence for all case levels via fax
  • Handling emails to clients, including password-protected emails
  • Faxing out status requests to DDS and attaching confirmation receipt to client database
  • Managing paper and digital files by: filing all loose documents and files put to be filed, closing files by electronically scanning in contents of file to the client database.
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical document filing systems for efficient retrieval.
  • Downloading electronic files from the Social Security Administration upon closure of the file.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in clerical or administrative roles is preferred.
  • Proficiency in office software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Proficiency in Adobe
  • Strong typing skills with attention to detail for accurate transcription of documents.
  • Familiarity with document control systems and file management practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
