Boeing Global Services (BGS) Quality, Operations and Execution (QO&E) organization is currently seeking a Site Training Manager to join their team in Jacksonville, FL.

This position is responsible for ensuring all quality and operations employees have the skills and knowledge required to perform work accurately and efficiently on Boeing products.  You will work with other training faculty managers, provide guidance to QO&E Operations Excellence teams and frequently contribute to the enterprise training team.

The Training Manager is responsible for keeping up to speed with industry trends on best delivery and facilitation practices and partnering with 3rd party suppliers who provide training delivery services to Boeing.  This role will also integrate with other Boeing suppliers and Non-Fully Integrated Subsidiaries. A successful candidate in this role will lead to empower and inspire others to work together towards accomplishments, collaborate and work effectively in a team setting and clearly communicate a vision to help others achieve accomplishments.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of professional level employee development specialists who deliver Manufacturing, Quality and Safety classroom training, including certification training required per the regulatory authorities

  • Ensure staff members comply with instructor qualification and other related processes

  • Manage the workplace coach program to include partnering with operations leadership to establish clear responsibility, accountability and authority (RAA), and a defined process for new hires to report to the Operations floor

  • Assess the effectiveness of training programs through post-training evaluations, knowledge checks, and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement

  • Manage the technical training team to assist in the delivery of learning courseware utilizing a variety of delivery methods, techniques and platforms in support of both formal classroom and on-the-job learning

  • Assist in coaching, mentoring and developing employees companywide to promote core values and competencies, career path advancement and succession planning

  • Manage the Skills Matrix Program, to include liaising with Maintenance Leadership in procedure, compliance, updates and effectiveness

  • Monitor instructor performance and ensure adequate instructor resources are qualified and available to meet business demand per required program schedules and employee needs

  • Work closely with subject matter experts, operations teams, and Human Resources to ensure alignment between training initiatives and organizational goals. 

  • Partner with 3rd party suppliers that provide instructor-led classroom delivery services to ensure 3rd party instructor resources are qualified and available to meet business demand per program schedules and employee needs

  • Implement and manage a technical training matrix across different departments/programs, skill codes and job level to ensure program requirements are met

  • Partner with Production System Training (PST) and Supplier Management to provide classroom delivery/technical performance coaching to Boeing suppliers as required by contractual requirements and other business needs

  • Partner with other PST Learning Design and Technology organizations to provide technical expertise in support of curriculum management, learning design and technical performance coaching

  • Partner with operations to ensure instructors are scheduled accurately and equipped with all necessary courseware including tools, parts and materials, software access and personal protective equipment

  • Connect with the PST Learning and Development team to receive operations key feedback on effectiveness of training, prep for contingencies, manage effectiveness and efficiency

  • Keep Instructors connected with changes and trends in curriculum and in operations process

  • Coach, counsel, mentor and provide developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand their capabilities

  • Provide on-going developmental feedback, promote employee recognition, recognize contributions of individuals and teams and build a departmental culture that improves employee satisfaction and retain a skilled and motivated workforce

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience leading teams in a formal and /or informal leadership role

  • 3+ years of experience in a role that required project management skills

  • 3+ years of experience working with data analytics

  • 3+ years of experience in a role utilizing business acumen and understanding

  • 1+ years of experience guiding and coaching others in faculty roles

  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally as needed

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience with instructional principles and methodology (e.g. curriculum development, delivery, summary, assessment, remediation, motivation, engagement, etc.)

  • Experience thinking creatively and advancing work to use new technology and simplified processes

  • Experience engaging and delivering for stakeholders and customers
