Position Summary:

The LED Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the performance and reliability of all PixelFLEX LED systems through both pre-installation preparation and post-installation support. This position is responsible for conducting quality control builds, validating system performance, performing troubleshooting, and assisting with on-site and remote technical support. The LED Technician will collaborate closely with Project Managers, the Operations Manager, and the Technical Services Department to ensure all systems meet PixelFLEX quality standards before shipment and after deployment.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Pre-Installation & Quality Control

● Receive, label, and inventory all incoming LED and control system components.

● Pre-build and test LED systems for full functionality (video signal, power distribution, data flow, processor configuration).

● Conduct firmware updates and module calibration.

● Document test results in management software and report issues or required repairs to the Operations Manager.

● Prepare, package, and stage systems for outbound shipment with complete inventory verification.

Post-Installation & Troubleshooting

● Assist Technical Services with diagnostic support for installed systems.

● Perform bench repairs, module replacements, and signal chain troubleshooting as needed.

● Support RMA processing and component-level quality checks.

● Participate in on-site service visits or remote troubleshooting calls when required.

Cross-Functional Support

● Collaborate with Project Managers during project closeout and punch list resolution.

● Provide technical setup for internal training sessions, demos, and trade show equipment.

● Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse and test environments.

● Additional duties may be assigned as necessary to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

Education and Experience

● Working knowledge of all necessary products relating to the application of LED direct view

● video systems.

● Associate degree or relevant technical training strongly preferred.

● Understanding of power/data signal flow, networking basics, and AV troubleshooting.

● Strong attention to detail and documentation.

● Proficiency with diagnostic tools, software interfaces, and multimeters.

● Forklift operation and safe handling of fragile electronic equipment.

● Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects at once

● Must be collaborative and comfortable working in a team environment

● Willingness to travel to project sites as necessary

● Manufacturer certifications (NovaStar, Brompton, Crestron, etc.) preferred.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and percentages

Language Skills:

Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Must be able to read and interpret business documents, technical procedures, and product manuals. Ability to write reports, correspondence, and policies, and to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees, clients, vendors, and the general public.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to identify and define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and correct errors. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills required. Ability to interpret instructions presented in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and deal with both abstract and concrete variables.

Other Qualifications:

Must exhibit an understanding of the AV integration and LED display market. Able to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor. High integrity and confidentiality are expected. Must exercise sound judgment and positively influence others, including resolving conflicts with poise. Advanced computer skills required (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing, Internet, and email); familiarity with CAD software preferred. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends, and travel as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment is primarily a warehouse and technical testing area, with occasional on-site work at client installations or active construction sites. The noise level is generally moderate.
