Department/Unit Summary
Busy clinic setting, which serves Family practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Residency clinic and a walk-in clinic. This position is a float position; therefore, the applicant will be expected to work in different areas throughout the clinic dependent on staffing needs.

Qualifications and requirements
Applicants should have a current state LPN license or a current multistate compact license and possess an associate degree from an accredited nursing school.
Minimum Work Experience:
- Knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT codes, insurance benefits and healthcare backgrounds
- Required Essential Functions Under the direction of an RN, contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
- Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.
- May administer medication.
- Documents patient care given. Assists RN with development of plan of care.
- Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Monitors, documents, and communicates patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
- Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
- Schedules appointments and procedures as ordered by the provider.
- Obtains insurance re-authorizations as requested for testing and scheduled procedures.
- Non-Essential Functions Attends clinic meetings.
- Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
- Reports all incidents, hazards, drug interactions, and initiate appropriate action.
- Completes safety instructional programs. Assists other team members when time permits.
Additional requirements include:
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtain within 30 days after hire date
- Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
