WAREHOUSE CLERK II

SUMMARY: Facilities Resource Group (FRG) in Comstock Park produces, installs and services Commercial Tankless Water Heating Systems, We build these systems with components from our onsite warehouse. At FRG, the Warehouse Clerk II helps control inventory movement, processes orders, assists project teams with inventory, helps ship and receive and is responsible for scrap disposition. The Warehouse Clerk II applies mechanical aptitude/skills to help ensure fleet vehicles are inspected and well-maintained. The Warehouse Clerk II also safely operates forklifts, as well as company vehicles (with or without a trailer), to complete local errands: i.e., to/from service appointments, part runs, the occasional transport of executive guests, etc.

JOB DETAILS:

  • LOCATION: Comstock Park, MI
  • PAY: $21 - $24/hour
  • TYPE: Permanent + Benefits
  • SHIFT: 1st Shift Mon-Fri
  • HOURS: 40-50 / Week

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Shipping and Receiving

  • Prepare freight shipments using FedEx, NetSuite/WMS and other systems.
  • Work with vendors and carriers to coordinate and track urgent or timebound shipments.
  • Pick, kit, pack and prepare outbound shipments and accurately create shipping labels.
  • Inspect inbound shipments for damage prior to receiving them.
  • Compare packing lists or bills of lading to PO's on received goods, confirming all details match.
  • Receive verified goods into system in a timely manner using accurate details.
  • Immediately notify Warehouse Manager of damages, delays, concerns or discrepancies.

Inventory & Warehouse Maintenance

  • Perform bin-to-bin / location transfers for kitted parts.
  • Pick, kit and restock parts for project team vans and trailers, accurately and with urgency.
  • Assist project teams with van and trailer loading and unloading.
  • Record, break down, sort and dispose of all mixed metal and cardboard scrap timely.
  • Responsible for ensuring warehouse is clean, organized and well-maintained daily.
  • Perform regular cycle counts on trailer, van and warehouse inventory.
  • Participate in and contribute to successful on-time completion of annual inventory process.

Fleet

  • Safe operation of company vehicles (with or without trailers), to/from local errands or appointments: i.e., scheduled service, parts runs, transportation of executive guests.
  • Performance of secondary visual inspections and light mechanical maintenance on fleet vehicles (i.e., tire pressures, fluid top-offs, light replacements, trailer wiring), as directed.

General

  • Comply with all safety rules and regulations and company policies.
  • Demonstrate safe, proficient use of tools and equipment (drills, impacts, saws, etc).
  • Operate and maneuver truck & trailer safely from point-to-point, including on road.
  • Mechanical aptitude to perform basic hands-on vehicle maintenance tasks.
  • Obtain forklift certification and operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Help perform bin transfers and kit parts for production, as needed.
  • Help with scheduling and/or recordkeeping tasks for fleet vehicles, as directed.
  • Other duties, as directed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 21 years of age and authorized to work in the US.
  • Chauffeur's License, DOT Medical Card, Background, Insurable MVR & Drug Mandatory.
  • Requires 1-3 yr. warehouse experience (incl. use of inventory management system).
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, accountability and sense of urgency.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and willingness to work as part of a team.
