Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will work closely with licensed occupational therapists to deliver high-quality patient care across a variety of settings, including skilled nursing facilities, assisted living and home health environments. Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed occupational therapists in developing and implementing personalized care plans that address patients' specific needs and goals.
  • Support patients in performing activities of daily living (ADLs), such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility exercises, to promote independence.
  • Provide hands-on therapy interventions for patients across various settings including outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments.
  • Contribute to the evaluation process by observing patient progress and reporting findings to the supervising therapist.
  • Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, adaptive techniques, and safety measures to facilitate ongoing recovery at home or in community settings.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities, progress notes, and treatment outcomes in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and social workers—to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to care plans, treatment schedules, and equipment management as needed.
  • Uphold safety standards by adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring proper use of therapy equipment.

Qualifications

  • Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program.
  • Prior experience working in inpatient hospital settings, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics or home health is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and occupational health principles.
  • Experience assisting with ADLs and implementing therapeutic activities for diverse patient populations.
  • Familiarity with care planning processes and documentation requirements within healthcare environments.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced settings such as acute care or outpatient clinics while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams and educating patients' families.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $39.77 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
