We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Private Duty Nurse to provide personalized care to patients in their homes or facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a wide range of nursing skills and experience, ensuring high-quality care tailored to individual patient needs. This role requires a strong commitment to patient advocacy, safety, and comfort, while also collaborating with families and healthcare teams.

Duties

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in various settings, including home care, assisted living, and long-term care facilities.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on medical history and current health status.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV infusions, injections, and wound care.
  • Monitor vital signs and manage acute pain using appropriate interventions.
  • Provide support for activities of daily living (ADLs) while promoting independence.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure adherence to treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Educate patients and families on health management, medication administration, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Assist with specialized procedures such as catheterization, dialysis, and emergency interventions when necessary.

Skills

Candidates should possess a diverse skill set that includes but is not limited to:

  • Knowledge of medical terminology for accurate documentation.
  • Familiarity with various nursing specialties such as geriatrics, pediatrics, hospice & palliative medicine, behavioral health, and infectious disease care.
  • Competence in performing procedures like phlebotomy, suturing, tube feeding, airway management, ventilator, and specimen collection/processing.
  • Strong assessment skills for effective triage and patient evaluation.
  • Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs.
  • Understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques.
