Dual Immersion Academy seeks a Special Education Para-professional in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dual Immersion Academy is a small K-8 school located in the heart of Salt Lake City, Utah. Because of our small size, our students, families, faculty, and staff enjoy a very close relationship that we work hard to cultivate and maintain Our fantastic group of educators put in the time and effort to help us reach our mission of creating bilingual, bi-literate, and bi-cultural students who are prepared to make a difference in the world.
The special education paraprofessional works with the special education teacher and regular education teacher to support students with disabilities so they can be successful with general classroom instruction. Duties include:
Small-group instruction to assist students with academic skills, with lessons provided by the special education teacher
Duties include:
Assisting students with academic activities from the regular classroom in small groups
Social skills instruction, with lessons provided by the special education teacher
Behavior support
Personal care, including assisting students moving in and out of a wheelchair
Supervision of students during recess
Progress monitoring activities
We request applicants who either have an Associate's degree, have completed at least 48 semester hours of college credit, or have passed the Praxis paraprofessional test. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
