Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Karate Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in martial arts instruction, teaching children and adults, and managing behavior in a dynamic environment. This role involves delivering engaging karate classes, fostering a positive learning atmosphere, and promoting physical fitness and discipline among students of all ages. Candidates with backgrounds in sports coaching, childcare, or teaching physical education are encouraged to apply. Duties

  • Conduct karate classes for children and adults, tailoring instruction to various skill levels
  • Develop lesson plans that incorporate fundamental martial arts techniques, discipline, and character building
  • Demonstrate proper techniques in karate and other martial arts such as Judo or Kung Fu as needed
  • Manage class behavior effectively, ensuring a safe and respectful environment
  • Incorporate other physical activities like swimming, climbing, basketball, cheerleading, or gym exercises to enhance overall fitness
  • Provide guidance on health and safety protocols during classes
  • Track student progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement
  • Foster a positive atmosphere that promotes confidence, teamwork, and respect among students
  • Collaborate with other instructors or staff to organize special events or competitions

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in martial arts instruction, particularly in karate, Judo, or related disciplines
  • Background in sports coaching or teaching physical education preferred
  • Experience working with children and managing classroom behavior effectively
  • Knowledge of health club or gym environments is advantageous
  • Lifeguard experience or swimming skills are a plus but not required
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate students of diverse ages and backgrounds
  • Certification in martial arts teaching or relevant coaching credentials are desirable
  • Passion for fitness, health, and youth development is essential
