Position Overview

Pleasant Hill District 69 is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable District Bookkeeper to manage financial records, assist with budgeting, and support the overall financial operations of the district. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, trustworthy, and experienced in accounting or bookkeeping in an educational setting.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records for the district, including accounts payable and receivable
  • Process payroll, invoices, purchase orders, and reimbursements
  • Reconcile bank statements and maintain general ledger entries
  • Prepare financial reports for district administration and the school board
  • Assist with annual budgets, audits, and state reporting requirements
  • Ensure compliance with district policies and state/federal regulations
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial and personnel information
  • Provide support to administrators, staff, and the public regarding financial matters
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the financial health of the district

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business preferred.
  • Experience: Prior bookkeeping or accounting experience required; school or public sector experience a plus.
  • Skills: Proficiency with accounting software (District currently utilizes Teacherease), strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills, and an ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information

Work Schedule

The District Bookkeeper position is a full-time position working 260 days throughout the year. This position will begin January 5, 2026 and provide 12 months of job shadowing/training with the current district bookkeeper before she retires December 31, 2026.
