The Karol Hotel is a boutique hotel located in the Feather Sound area of Clearwater, FL, convenient to the beaches, St Pete, and Tampa. The Karol features 123 rooms and suites, and features Katch Restaurant and Vantage Rooftop Bar, along with ballrooms and conference rooms to host events. The Karol Hotel is part of Marriott's Tribute Portfolio.

The Marketing Coordinator will develop marketing and social media efforts to promote The Karol Hotel, increasing brand awareness and attracting target markets. The Marketing Coordinator plays a vital role in developing deep partnerships within the Tampa Bay community to grow our brand. This is a full-time, in-person position.

Essential Functions

  • Assist in developing and implementing the company's overall marketing strategy.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and target audiences.
  • Create and manage engaging marketing content, including social media posts, video and photo footage, and community marketing.
  • Develop marketing campaigns for Google ads, Google Maps, and social media ads.
  • Monitor and engage with social media reviews, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Develop relationships with influencers based on niche markets and active content, and coordinate influencer stays to spotlight our hotel and restaurant.
  • Support with event planning and execution, including spotlighting local non-profits.
  • Actively maintain and update The Karol Hotel website. Work closely with Marriott IT and SEO departments to assist with these updates.
  • Network locally at trade shows and events, occasionally attending non-profit events in the community. Assist with sales and marketing blitzes with local businesses.
  • Design and update menus for our restaurant and bar outlets.
  • Assist in developing and designing retail shop items, including candles and apparel.
  • Ensure distribution of internal and external marketing materials and communication.
  • Stay up to date with the latest marketing trends and tools.

Hospitality/Conduct Requirements

Knowledgeable of and follow the company's mission statement and values. Understand who our guests are and how we service our guests, demonstrate professionalism, take ownership and ensure guest satisfaction. Advance Marriott's Art of Brilliant Hosting. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform. Always comply with Marriott and The Karol Hotel standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.

Position Requirements

  • Two or four year degree from a college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-2 years of marketing or social media experience, including internships, preferred.
  • Hospitality experience is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of Canva and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be able to occasionally work extended hours including weekends or evenings.
  • Keep current in event management trends.
  • Attend community events and industry meetings.
  • Knowledge of market trends, competition and key customers of the hotel.
  • Proficiency in the English language both written and verbal.
