Position Summary
The Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor is responsible for managing and coordinating the maintenance and repair of physical structures, grounds, and buildings. They will also oversee security, uniforms, and housekeeping while scheduling and directing routine maintenance and repairs related to HVAC, electrical, carpentry, painting, pneumatic systems, and mechanical equipment. Additionally, they will be responsible for forklift training and act as the safety coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the upkeep, repairs, and condition of the facility.
- Maintain preventative maintenance and measures for the facility and its structural
- equipment.
- Assists in the Production and Quality departments as needed or requested.
- Assist in the negotiation of contracts for building repairs, suppliers, vendors, and
inspectors related to the upkeep and repair of the building.
- Maintains and monitors all company alarm systems and the security team.
- Manages HVAC System
- Oversee and ensure buildings, grounds and equipment are cleaned and maintained.
- Coordinate all work to be done with external vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure ongoing and consistent operation of the building and its occupants.
- Ensure all facilities repairs are conducted efficiently in a manner that supports all areas of distribution operations. This would include, but not be limited to conveyor, rolling stocks, janitorial, pallet racking, dock doors, mechanical/electrical, HVAC, troubleshooting and construction projects.
- Responsible for all forklift training and safety coordination.
- Prepare basic cost analysis reports and communicate cost impacts to company
executives.
- Must be willing to work off shifts and weekends when the demand arises.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Ten or more years in commercial and industrial maintenance.
- Possess a vast knowledge of facilities maintenance including but not limited to
mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, welding, pneumatics, motor control wiring,
conveyor maintenance, preventative maintenance, fabricating, and computer knowledge.
- Experienced with the operation of power tools, hand tools, multi-meters, and amp probes.
- Good working knowledge and experience of 480v, 240v, 120v, systems single phase and 3-phase wiring and laying conduit (flex and EMT), AC/DC motor controls.
- Construction and electrical maintenance experience.
- HVAC knowledge
- Familiarity with all federal, state, and local building codes and multiple years working with boiler, plumbing, gas pressure, and high-pressure air systems.
- Experience supervising vendors and contractors and negotiating contracts.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as a team.
- Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills.
