WHY DATA SCIENCE & ANALYTICS (DSA)?
The Data Science & Analytics organization's mission is to increase our speed, frequency and acumen of making decisions at scale by instilling a data-influenced approach to building products. We cover a wide area of the data spectrum including analytical data engineering, product analytics, experimentation, causal inference, statistical modeling and machine learning. Aligned and partnering with product verticals, we use this extensive tool belt to discover new opportunities and unmet use cases, influence and shape the product roadmap and prioritization, build data products and measure impact on our community of players and developers.

WHY ANALYTICAL DATA PRODUCT FOR SOCIAL DSA?
This role will work closely with Product and Engineering Managers, and Data Scientists to build best-in-class social products. Roblox is a highly social platform with billions of friendships, and our product teams are pioneering the way users interact in the metaverse. You will combine your technical expertise in analytics data engineering and data science, focused on building analytics products and empowering teams with actionable insights. You will play a key role in creating foundational datasets, maintaining scalable data systems, and delivering world-class visualizations and insights to deepen our understanding of users. This role will report directly into Senior Data Science leadership.

This position is a
3-month temporary role
based in our San Mateo HQ office, eligible for overtime pay.

You Will

• Build scalable data solutions by owning and developing scalable ETL data pipelines and dashboards to support the social products.
• Contribute to logging / telemetry design on key new product launches.
• Optimize existing data pipelines and transform them into clean, consumable aggregates to empower analytics, reporting and research.
• Contribute to the robust foundational data infrastructure to support the social data science pillar.
• Conduct ad hoc, descriptive and exploratory analysis in collaboration with data scientists on the team as needed

You Have

• An advanced or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in data engineering, analytical engineering or similar role.
• Strong data engineering skills, including experience with large datasets, telemetry logging, and data pipeline development.
• Strong communication, good judgment, growth mindset to solve new and unique challenges with high independence.
• Experience with metric design, data visualization, including dashboard design and implementation, social product and gaming industry is a plus.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual hourly rate could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

$126.14—$154.43 USD

Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
