Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated people to join our team. The ideal candidate will have exceptional organization skills and the ability to communicate in a clear and respectful manor. Able to ensure the buildings operate in accordance with established policies and procedures so that the residents experience safe and secure housing in a manner that affirms their human dignity.

Purpose of Position
The Creek is a unique collaboration between Olmsted County's Housing Stability Team and Catholic Charities of Southern MN. The assigned shifts, manage the Creek so that it operates in accordance with established policies and procedures so that guests experience safe and secure shelter in a manner that affirms their human dignity and that volunteers contribute meaningfully to guest outcomes in an environment that assures their safety and affirms their human dignity.
Work Schedule
- Housing Advocate Hours range between3:00pm-11:00am with every other weekend
Responsibilities
- Advocates for the mission of the organization and upholds the agency's values.
- Has a working knowledge of the terms: low barrier, person centered, trauma informed, & housing first.
- Review policy & guidelines with guests at time of entrance.
- Ensure guests are complying with program policies and procedures.
- Delivers services with safety, respect and effectiveness.
- Assess guest needs and offer assistance in every manner practical.
- Monitors guest behavior. Follows all policies and procedures of the organization.
- Provides direction, assistance, and support to night shift volunteers and other volunteers.
- Maintains order and assists in keeping all assigned areas clean and free of spills, trash and safety hazards.
- Perform hourly walk-throughs, document anything noteworthy.
- Receive and put away donations received during the shift.
- Maintain record of donations received.
- Assist volunteers who carry in and serve donated meals.
- Assist in cleaning the space and gathering laundry.
- Complete all agency logs and incident reports in a timely manner.
- Provide immediate and professional response to any security /safety emergency or disturbance within or immediately outside facility.

Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
- People-oriented -- supportive and fairness-focused
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to pass background check.
- Basic computer knowledge
Have skills and knowledge acquired through at least one of the following:
A. a course of study in a health or human services related field leading to a bachelor of
arts, bachelor of science, or associate's degree;
B. one year of experience with the target population served;
C. experience as a certified peer specialist according to Minnesota Statutes, section
256B.0615; or
D. meet the requirements for unlicensed personnel under Minnesota Statutes, sections
144A.43 to 144A.483.
