LifeMoves is the largest and most effective provider of interim housing and services for homelessness in Silicon Valley since 1987. Our Mission is to end homelessness by providing interim housing, supportive services, and building collaborative partnerships. With over two dozen interim supportive housing communities and more on the way, LifeMoves gives our neighbors experiencing homelessness a temporary place to call home while providing intensive, customized case management through site-based programs and community outreach.
POSITION PURPOSE
The Employee Relations Manager plays a critical role in fostering a positive, compliant, and productive work environment by managing employee relations matters, conducting workplace investigations, and supporting leaders in resolving complex employee concerns. This role ensures organizational compliance with labor laws, promotes fair and equitable workplace practices, and partners with leadership to reinforce a culture of respect, accountability, and inclusion.
This role qualifies for a hybrid schedule (a minimum of 2 days in the office, 3 days remotely, and a maximum of 3 days remotely).
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage all aspects of employee relations, including performance concerns, workplace conflicts, policy compliance, and corrective action processes.

Conduct fair, thorough, and timely investigations into employee complaints, grievances, and allegations of misconduct, ensuring confidentiality and objectivity throughout.

Develop clear and comprehensive investigation reports, providing findings, recommendations, and next steps that align with organizational policies and employment law.

Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees by offering guidance on conflict resolution, performance management, and appropriate application of policies.

Partner with the Vice President of Human Resources and HR leadership to identify trends, recommend proactive solutions, and promote a positive workplace culture.

Collaborate with Legal Counsel, Labor Relations, and external agencies when appropriate to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.

Review, update, and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure consistency, fairness, and alignment with best practices.

Design and deliver training for managers and employees on employee relations topics, such as conflict resolution, performance coaching, and workplace conduct.

Monitor employee relations metrics and use data to recommend strategies that improve engagement, reduce risk, and strengthen organizational trust.
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required or associate's degree with a minimum of 5 consecutive years of experience as a Human Resources Generalist; or SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.

2-5 years of direct experience in employee relations, labor relations, workplace investigations, and report writing.

Strong background in HR compliance, labor law application, and performance management.

Demonstrated experience handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
