HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find a Sensor Integration Engineer to validate and integrate sensor cleaning systems that ensure cameras, LiDARs, and other sensors operate reliably across all weather conditions and vehicle platforms.

In this role, you'll design and execute validation plans, perform root cause analyses, and support hardware and system-level testing to improve sensor performance, reduce downtime, and enhance vehicle reliability. You'll work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and fleet operations to deliver a robust, production-ready solution that improves quality and efficiency across the fleet.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and technically versatile, with strong CAD experience, a background in data acquisition and root cause analysis, and excellent communication skills. You're comfortable presenting complex technical findings to non-technical audiences and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Candidates invited to interview will be asked to briefly present an engineering project they've personally contributed to.
As a Sensor Integration Engineer, You'll

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot fleet issues impacting system performance.
  • Support wind tunnel and fleet testing of SCM function.
  • Support hardware/system-level testing activities as needed.
  • Write a test plan, design an internal test fixture, execute testing, and report the test result.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering (or a related field)
  • 2+ years of industry experience in mechanical/electrical system integration or testing
  • Proficiency with 2D/3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, Catia, UG NX, or equivalent)
  • Experience with data acquisition tools and data visualization
  • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for mechanical/electrical systems
  • Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages for data processing
  • Experience using CAN tools (e.g., Vector CANalyzer, IPmotion, LabVIEW) for diagnostics and data analysis
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, able to explain technical findings to non-technical audiences

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Familiarity with automotive standards (FMVSS, ISO, IEC)
  • Hands-on experience with thermocouples, strain gauges, pressure transducers, and accelerometers
  • Ability to use CAN tools for vehicle-level troubleshooting and analysis

This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via HireArt. This role is hybrid, requiring 4 days per week onsite, and is available to candidates local to the Foster City, CA area.
