Job Description

As a Security Guard - Retail Property Patrol Driver in Glen Burnie, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you'll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability-giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. As a Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will be responsible for unarmed patrols throughout a bustling retail location. Your presence will help to deter security-related incidents while you remain visible, interact with the public, and provide outstanding customer service. This is a driving post, so you will conduct patrols using a vehicle as you monitor the premises. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner in a retail location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the retail property and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or potential issues.
  • Observe and report any suspicious behaviors, hazards, or incidents encountered during patrols.
  • Communicate and collaborate with store staff and management to support a secure retail environment.
  • Assist patrons and visitors with directions, information, and general inquiries as needed.
  • Complete detailed and accurate incident reports and daily activity logs as required by Allied Universal and the site.
  • Remain alert and attentive to surroundings while on duty to help to deter unauthorized activities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A Security Professional Guard Card is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
