Position Summary

The Caregiver provides high-quality, person-centered care to clients in their homes or residential settings. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, promoting independence, and offering emotional support to ensure each client's physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.
  • Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful social activities to enhance emotional well-being.
  • Support clients with meal planning, preparation, and feeding as needed, following dietary restrictions or care plans.
  • Monitor and report changes in clients' health, mood, or behavior to supervising nurses or coordinators.
  • Assist with light housekeeping tasks, including laundry, cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Administer or remind clients to take prescribed medications (as permitted).
  • Accompany clients to medical appointments, errands, or recreational outings as required.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, observations, and reports.
  • Follow infection prevention, safety, and confidentiality protocols at all times.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum of a Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent; additional health or caregiving certifications preferred.
  • Prior experience in caregiving, nursing assistance, or healthcare support (1–2 years preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of personal care, nutrition, and hygiene best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for helping others.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to assist clients with mobility and perform light household duties.

Preferred Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or First Aid training.
  • Certificate in Caregiving, Health Assistant, or equivalent healthcare course.

Working Conditions

  • Client home or residential care settings.
  • Flexible work schedule, including weekends or evenings as required.
  • Exposure to varying health conditions and household environments.

Remuneration

Competitive salary commensurate with experience, with opportunities for training and professional growth.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $ $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
