Line Cook

We are looking for experienced Line Cook to join our team of culinary professionals. The Ambassador is home to three F&B entities: the Fitz, Gin Rickey and Deco Café as well as Deco catering Co.

The hours of this position will generally be 6a-2p.

{ the Fitz } A dining experience in a warm, yet sophisticated atmosphere. The dining room is welcoming and comfortable while the cuisine that evokes a fine dining feel. The menu incorporates current trends, bold flavors and excellent ingredients with an emphasis on local ingredients and products.

{ Gin Rickey } A more casual experience with the center of the space being the re-imagined bar and patio. The patio offers a fire pit and soft seating. Gin Rickey's cocktail menu features hand crafted cocktail ingredients with an emphasis on using products from local distilleries and breweries. The lounge features an extensive selection of craft beer and wines. The cuisine offered in Gin Rickey has been crafted to compliment the cocktails, beer and wine menus.

{ Deco } A casual coffee café' featuring breakfast, lunch and bakery daily. The café' offers weekly flavors of house made soft serve ice cream.

Essential Functions:

• Sets up station according to restaurant guidelines
• Prepares all food items as directed in a precise, sanitary and timely manner
• Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant
• Restocks all items as needed throughout shift
• Cleans and maintains station in practicing good safety, sanitation organizational skills
• Has understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in station
• Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas
• Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the Chef or Sous Chef at any time

Qualifications:

• Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills
• 1 year previous prep or line cook experience in an upscale and fast paced setting
• Ability to take direction
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
• Problem solving abilities, be self-motivated, and organized
• Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledge
• Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures

General Physical Demands for the Position:

• Prep/Line Cooks will regularly stand for long periods of time, bend, stoop, turn, lift, talk, walk, walk on uneven ground, carry and lift up to fifty (50) pounds
• Team lift is required for anything over twenty-five (25) pounds or any awkward lifting
