Job Summary:
Enertia Software is seeking a Director of Engineering to provide technical and organizational leadership across all layers of our product technology stack—front end, middle tier/services, and back end. This role is critical to ensure that our engineering organization delivers high-quality, scalable, and secure software aligned with business goals. The Director will champion best practices in software development, foster a culture of innovation and collaboration, and lead teams through continuous improvement and growth.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction and hands-on leadership across the entire technology stack, ensuring architectural consistency, performance, and maintainability.
- Lead multiple cross-functional engineering teams in delivering new features, product enhancements, and platform improvements on schedule and within scope.
- Drive the adoption of modern development practices, CI/CD, cloud-native architecture, and DevOps principles to increase team productivity and software quality.
- Collaborate with Product, QA, Support, and Customer Success to translate business objectives into scalable technical solutions.
- Mentor engineering managers and senior technical staff, fostering talent development, accountability, and high performance across teams.
- Ensure strong engineering processes including code review, automated testing, security best practices, and technical documentation.
- Manage resourcing, budget, and roadmap priorities in partnership with executive stakeholders.
- Champion a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and engineering excellence.
Required Skills/Experience/Education:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, including 5+ years in engineering leadership roles.
- Proven experience leading full-stack engineering teams in a SaaS or enterprise software environment.
- Deep technical expertise in modern software architectures, cloud platforms (e.g., Azure or AWS), and scalable service-oriented systems.
- Experience with .NET, SQL Server, and front-end frameworks (e.g., Angular, React) is a plus.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and modern SDLC practices.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the energy sector, especially upstream oil & gas or ERP platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to manage distributed or hybrid teams.
- Passion for mentoring and developing engineering talent.
- A strong balance of technical depth and business acumen.
