Description

Our NOV Fiber Glass Systems San Antonio facility is seeking to hire a Quality Control (QC) Technician I to join our dynamic night shift team The QC Technician will be responsible for performing quality control inspection activities, to ensure the compliance of in-process products and finished goods with industry standards, while adhering to NOV policies, procedures and customer requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Understanding of quality concepts in a manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience with inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, and similar equipment
  • Inspect, reject or accept product according to visual standard, weight, tally and other Q.C. requirements
  • Documentation and recordkeeping
  • Control the removal of monogram from non-conforming product
  • Wear appropriate PPE
  • Comply with all NOV Company policies, guidelines and procedures
  • Comply with all HSE policies, guidelines and procedures
  • Comply with all Quality policies, guidelines and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Factory environment with large range in temperature changes
  • Standing, walking, & Bending/Stooping up to 12 hours daily 
  • Repetitive Movement (shoveling/sweeping/fastening) up to 12 hours daily 
  • Lifting weights up to 50 lbs. Regularly 
  • Push/Pull up to 12 hours daily 
  • Dependability/Attendance
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to accurately use scales, OD tape, ruler, thread height gauge
  • Ability to adapt and be cross-trained to learn all job duties as required 
  • Ability to learn technical repair and assembly guidelines and procedures 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to read drawings, instructions or repair and assembly operations

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Three years of verifiable work experience, preferred in manufacturing environment 
  • Travel less than 10%
  • Trained into API Q1 and ISO 9001
  • Basic math
