The Opportunity

We are collaborating with multiple companies in DeWitt seeking experienced Tool Makers. These organizations value long-term fit and are looking for professionals who bring both skill and alignment. By joining our network, you gain access to opportunities tailored to your goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and repair precision tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, and EDMs.
  • Interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings to determine specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose tooling problems, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Perform precision measurements using instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure accuracy.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize tool design and manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on tooling to ensure longevity and consistent performance.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and quality control standards throughout the tool-making process.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Journeyman Tool Maker certification or 5+ years of equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machine tools (lathes, mills, grinders, EDMs).
  • Expertise in reading and interpreting complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and GD&T.
  • Demonstrated skill in using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, CMMs).
  • Strong understanding of various materials (metals, alloys, plastics) and their machining properties.

Bonus Qualifications

  • CAD/CAM software proficiency (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam)
  • Experience with advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparator)
  • Basic welding or fabrication skills
  • Prior experience with EDM or Wire EDM processes
