Overview
The Testing & Quality Lead is responsible for defining, managing, and executing the overall quality assurance and testing strategy for the migration of approximately 3,000 workflows from Nintex on-premises to Microsoft Power Platform. This role ensures that all solutions meet the functional, technical, and performance standards required for successful deployment. Reporting to the Solution Design and Technical Delivery Lead, the Testing & Quality Lead will work closely with the Solution Designer, Business Analyst, and technical teams to validate that solutions align with business requirements and perform as expected within the Power Platform ecosystem.
Location: This role is fully remote for someone based in the US, but the successful candidate must be able to support our client working in Eastern Time Zone.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the overall testing and quality assurance strategy for the migration project.
- Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria aligned with business and technical requirements.
- Coordinate testing phases including unit testing, system integration testing (SIT), and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Establish testing methodologies and frameworks suitable for low-code / no-code environments such as Power Platform.
- Ensure test coverage across Power Automate workflows, Power Apps, Dataverse configurations, and integration points.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts to validate requirements and expected business outcomes.
- Manage defect triage and resolution in coordination with developers and solution designers.
- Implement quality metrics and reporting dashboards to monitor testing progress and outcomes.
- Ensure adherence to compliance, performance, and security standards during testing cycles.
- Conduct regression testing and validation of updates or fixes post-deployment.
- Lead quality assurance reviews to ensure that solutions meet defined success criteria before release.
- Facilitate stakeholder sign-off on testing deliverables and readiness for production deployment.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in software testing or quality assurance, with at least 2 years in a lead or coordination role.
- Experience managing QA efforts in workflow automation or platform migration projects.
- Hands-on experience developing and executing test plans, scripts, and documentation.
- Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira, TestRail).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience coordinating testing across multiple teams and stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Understanding of Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse) and Microsoft 365 integration points.
- Experience testing Nintex workflows or similar workflow systems.
- Familiarity with Azure automation and integration components (Logic Apps, Functions, Service Bus).
- Understanding of ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) practices in Power Platform.
- Experience with automation testing frameworks for Power Apps or Power Automate.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB, Microsoft Power Platform Functional Consultant).
