We are looking for a Senior Social Media Manager to join our client We have a full-time/direct-hire opening for a professional sports team located in the tri-state area. Ideally, this person will thrive within a fast-paced environment, loves sports, and has a wealth of knowledge in managing social media content.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day social media strategy and content creation across TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook, Threads, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
  • Capture, curate, and post real-time content during home and away matches, player appearances, events, and community activations.
  • Partner closely with the Partnerships and Marketing Activation teams to deliver on sponsor and brand content requirements.
  • Develop creative campaigns to grow audience engagement and social followings, especially on TikTok.
  • Manage cross-functional requests and maintain content calendars for upcoming announcements, releases, and activations.
  • Collaborate with the content, photo, and video teams to plan and execute production briefs for matchdays and special projects.
  • Monitor analytics to track performance, optimize strategies, and report key insights monthly.
  • Stay ahead of digital trends and identify culturally relevant opportunities for the brand to engage fans.
  • Manage influencer and VIP presence at matches and coordinate logistics with internal teams.

Requirements

  • 4–6 years of professional experience in social media management, digital marketing, or content creation.
  • Background in sports, entertainment, or startup environments preferred.
  • Proven success building and executing cross-platform social strategies.
  • Hands-on experience capturing and editing mobile content (photo/video).
  • Proficient in creative tools such as Canva, Slate, CapCut, or Adobe Suite.
  • Strong understanding of social media analytics and best practices across platforms.
  • Ability to travel frequently (30–50%) for away matches, events, and activations.
  • Flexible schedule - must be available for nights, weekends, and game days (schedule to even out, i.e: if working weekend, candidate will have day during the week off)
  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
