Position Summary:
The Director of Supplier Quality is responsible for ensuring that supplier-related processes are robust, compliant and align with company's strategic priorities, while driving needed improvements in performance across the supply base.
Key Responsibilities:
The Director, Supplier Quality is responsible for the planning and execution of external Quality Management System.
- This position ensures the development and implementation of global external supply quality systems policies and strategies that align with the company business, and MD Supply Chain Quality and Compliance strategies, and global regulatory requirements.
- The Director will utilize knowledge of current and emerging regulations and their impact to establish and manage the Quality Management System.
- Effectively utilize knowledge of regulations, policies and application, auditing techniques (internal and external entities), gap analysis and risk management.
- Apply Operations process knowledge relating to product quality and process performance.
- Ability to understand and match the business needs with the capabilities of suppliers and external manufacturers.
- Develop component supplier and external manufacturing quality and compliance capabilities to deliver value to the business and the MD Supply Chain.
- Implement and improves systems, policies and procedures for the identification, estimation, evaluation and reduction of risk associated with our products and services.
- Establish and monitor metrics to ensure value is delivered to the business.
- Provide active link and partnership between the supplier and external manufacturing sites and franchise headquarters.
- Participate in an active collaboration with the other staff in developing robust strategies and tactical responses to address customer and business needs.
- Lead the Quality Management Review process and CAPA process related to suppliers and externally manufactured products.
- Reviews and approves changes that may impact product quality.
- Plans the quality and compliance assessments of external manufacturing plants and component suppliers.
- Review and approves all manufacturing-related changes to the Approved Supplier List.
- Ensure that the strategies and goals are integrated in a cost effective and productive manner.
- Establish and monitors metrics for the measurement of Quality indicators to ensure effectiveness and value to the business.
- Develop and deploys strategy for talent attraction, development and retention to enhance the talent pipeline.
- Champion cross-franchise and sector assignments to foster global leadership development.
- Routinely reviews job descriptions for the organization, if applicable (e.g. when changes in the responsibilities of members in the organization
- Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level
- Responsible for ensuring subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition
- Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
- Performs other duties assigned as needed
Qualifications:
Education:
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required, Masters or Advanced degree preferred.
Required:
- A minimum of 10 years of Quality experience in a regulated environment.
- A minimum of 5 years in a supervisory/manager role or above in QA or Compliance function.
- Strong influencing, negotiations, and leading skills.
- The ability to manage complexity and manage a diverse team is critical.
- The candidate must demonstrate proven critical thinking, strategic aptitude, independent leadership, risk management knowledge, collaboration, and training ability.
- Excellent written, oral communication, presentation, and interpersonal relationship skills across all levels.
- Use of PC and associated programs.
- Ability to effectively connect and negotiate with government and regulatory agencies representatives.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both speaking and in writing.
Preferred:
- Experience in external manufacturing or supplier QA is preferred.
Other:
- This position may require up to 30% domestic & international travel.
- Proficiency in the English language is required (speak, read & write).
