GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Field Technician Supervisor is responsible for training and supervising our template and installation teams at all skill levels, ensuring timely delivery and results while providing the highest level of quality in product and customer service. This individual must have exceptional problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to identify opportunities to create and implement viable solutions. The Field Technician Supervisor should be nurturing, decisive, quick-witted, and patient, often serving as an advisor and counselor. This leader must assimilate and pass on, clarify, compromise, and present creative options. They must be humble and able to say no without saying no, using the approach of "yes, and…"

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the field supervisor, overseeing install and template operations.
  • Provide on-the-job training and conduct workshops as needed to grow and strengthen the team.
  • Build productive and positive relationships across the organization at all levels to drive influence.
  • Lead by example, evaluating install personnel annually while providing regular feedback through coaching, counseling, and goal setting.
  • Maintain proper install inventory, requesting replenishment as needed from the Purchasing Manager.
  • Communicate clearly by providing direction to install teams.
  • Plan and analyze procedures to maximize efficiency and provide improvement recommendations as needed.
  • Enforce and promote safety standards in compliance with OSHA and company requirements.
  • Communicate and coordinate with other managers to maximize efficiency.
  • Maintain and ensure shared responsibility of tasks with a focus on team development.
  • Engage employees through meaningful training and career growth opportunities as directed by the Operations Manager.
  • Perform install functions as often as needed to support the team and company.
  • Perform template functions when needed.
  • Perform services/repairs as needed.
  • Follow safety protocols and ensure the team does the same.
  • Hold and participate in weekly install meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by management to support the company's vision and mission.
  • Follow and uphold all company policies and procedures.

Measurement and Key Performance Indicators:

  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Preserve an installer turnover rate of less than 20%.
  • Oversee the installation process and incorporate improvements and efficiencies where needed to minimize overtime.

Physical Demands:

  • The position will require the ability to lift and carry countertop products in excess of 100 lbs.
  • Drive company vehicles for extended periods between job sites.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to a variety of weather conditions outdoors and a temperature-controlled office environment indoors.

Additional Information:

  • Must maintain a valid Driver's License and DOT medical card.
  • Work 8+ hour days, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work as needed.
  • 90% of the job will be working at job sites.
  • 10% of the job will be performed in the office, creating/editing reports and scheduling with the team and other departments to improve processes and efficiency.

Education/Experience:

  • Industry experience: 4+ years within the industry or a similar industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous management experience preferred.
  • Must be decisive and solution-oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present creative solutions to complex problems.
  • Ability to work within platforms, including Microsoft Teams, for internal communication and collaboration.

Communication Skills:

  • Must effectively communicate bottlenecks, workflow, resource needs, and organizational needs.
  • Ability to speak effectively with customers and employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
