Responsibilities

  • Safely operate tractor-trailers, including manual transmission trucks, across local and regional routes.
  • Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring secure handling of cargo.
  • Drive refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or other specialized vehicles based on delivery needs.
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes, and cargo details in compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and report any maintenance issues promptly.
  • Follow route schedules diligently while adapting to traffic conditions and delivery priorities.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues that arise during transit.

Requirements

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the vehicle type (e.g., tanker, refrigerated).
  • Proven experience in truck driving, including route driving and delivery operations.
  • Skilled in operating manual transmission trucks with proficiency in tractor-trailer handling.
  • Ability to load & unload freight efficiently using forklifts or other equipment when necessary.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols related to freight transport, including refrigerated cargo handling and tanker operations.
  • Experience with various truck types such as flatbeds, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, or specialized freight vehicles is preferred.
