Security Officer – Armed Retail Patrol

As a Security Officer – Armed Retail Patrol in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will conduct routine patrols throughout a dynamic retail location, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents. You will interact with the public, provide outstanding customer service, and respond to various situations as they arise. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or potential threats.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and other critical areas to help to deter theft and/or unauthorized access.
• Document and report incidents, observations, and/or suspicious activities according to Allied Universal protocols.
• Work collaboratively with store personnel and/or law enforcement when necessary to address incidents and maintain a secure environment.
• Remain visible and approachable to assist patrons and staff as needed while maintaining awareness of surroundings.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Hold a Level III armed certification for Texas.
• Baton certification is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
