Illinois State Licensed-Physical Therapist Assistant
** MUST BE OPEN TO TRAVEL THROUGHOUT TERRITORY, AS NEEDED **
MUST WORK 2-3- EVENING SHIFTS PER WEEK AT LEAST: 10am-7pm
Clinic Opens to Patients at 7am
Last Patient leaves about 7pm
If considering full-time status, must be able to work two-three evening shifts per week from 10am-7pm. - 40 hours a week is considered full time, salaried, exempt role.
If considering part-time status, must be able to work at least 20-29 hours a week. The role would be hourly, non-exempt and all shifts would be evening ONLY 10am-7pm.
Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
Reports to: Licensed Physical Therapist / Clinic Director / Area Director
Position Summary
The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) plays an essential role in delivering high-quality rehabilitative care to patients under the supervision, rules and guidelines, and direction of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) and APTA. This position at FYZICAL Therapy & Balance Centers involves managing a full caseload—typically 10–12 patients per day—to support patients in achieving their functional, mobility, and recovery goals.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Treatment Delivery
- Implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans as designed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Provide safe, effective, and evidence-based interventions focused on restoring function, improving balance, reducing pain, and enhancing mobility.
- Monitor and document patients' progress and communicate updates to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Educate patients and caregivers regarding home exercise programs, proper body mechanics, and injury prevention.
Caseload Management
- Maintain a full caseload averaging at least about 10–12 patients per day.
- Collaborate with front office staff and clinical leadership to optimize scheduling efficiency.
- Assist in managing patient compliance, including follow-up on missed visits.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation in compliance with Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) standards, Medicare, APTA, and payer-specific guidelines.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
- Participate in audits, chart reviews, and quality assurance initiatives.
Team Collaboration & Clinic Support
- Work collaboratively with the clinic team to achieve productivity goals.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment.
- Participate in education sessions, clinical meetings, and team-building activities.
- Serve as a positive ambassador of FYZICAL's mission, vision, and values.
Qualifications
Education & Licensure
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current and active Illinois PTA license in good standing.
- Current CPR certification required.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of outpatient orthopedic or rehabilitation experience preferred.
- New graduates with strong clinical aptitude and eagerness to learn are welcome to apply.

Physical Job Demands
-Ability to stand, walk, and move frequently throughout the workday.

-Visual and auditory ability to observe and evaluate patients effectively.
-Capacity to maintain prolonged focus during clinical and administrative tasks.
-Ability to safely demonstrate exercises, balance techniques, and equipment use as required.
-Must be physically capable of performing all essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
