HonorBridge is the largest Organ Procurement Organization in North Carolina. We partner with hospitals, transplant centers and other partners to coordinate the organ and tissue donation process. Job Summary:
The Employee Engagement and Experience Coordinator fosters a positive, connected, and high-performing workplace by organizing engagement programs and events, managing performance management processes, leading employee feedback initiatives, coordinating well-being programs, and supporting People & Culture operations. This role ensures that employees feel valued, supported, and aligned with the organization's mission and values through clear communication, intentional culture-building efforts, and collaborative problem-solving, while supporting and enforcing HonorBridge's policies and procedures as needed.

Employee Engagement and Experience Strategy
- Collaborate closely with the Director, People & Culture to shape the overall employee experience and engagement strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values.
- Partner on the design, prioritization, and implementation of annual engagement initiatives, recognition programs, well-being campaigns, and culture-building efforts.
- Analyze engagement survey results, stay interview feedback, and participation metrics; share insights and recommendations to inform leadership decisions.
- Research new trends, tools, and best practices in employee engagement and well-being; propose pilot programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Act as a thought partner in planning communications and engagement strategies for organizational changes, ensuring employees are informed, supported, and connected to purpose.
Co-create engagement and experience goals, assist in tracking progress, and contribute to annual reporting on outcomes and impact.
Employee Engagement Programs
- Develop, implement, and manage programs that boost employee morale, job satisfaction, and engagement.
- Administer and promote recognition programs (peer-to-peer, leader-driven, quarterly, and annual).
Draft appreciation letters, coordinate award logistics, and share recognition stories across communication channels.
Culture & Inclusion Initiatives
- Organize activities, events, and initiatives that promote organizational values and inclusivity, strengthen team cohesion, and celebrate employee contributions.
- Serve as co-lead of the Culture Connect Team, helping guide organizational culture efforts and address feedback.
Partner with employee-facing committees and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to communicate initiatives and drive participation.
Employee Well-Being Initiatives
- Coordinate organizational well-being programs (mental health resources, wellness challenges, Life Balanced Account initiatives, etc.).
- Partner with benefit providers, community resources, and internal stakeholders to promote physical, emotional, financial, and social well-being.
- Track participation, measure program impact, and recommend adjustments to ensure programs remain relevant and effective.
Communicate well-being resources regularly to ensure staff awareness and engagement
Feedback & Analysis
- Lead employee engagement survey communications, manage survey rollout, analyze results, and collaborate with leaders to develop actionable engagement plans.
- Conduct stay interviews and provide data-driven insights on retention trends and opportunities.
Track participation metrics for events, recognition programs, well-being initiatives, and engagement activities to measure impact and recommend improvements.
Performance Management (GPS)
- Own the GPS performance management process, including goal-setting, mid-year check-ins, and annual reviews.
- Partner with the Director of HR to continuously improve the GPS process to support employee development and leader effectiveness.
Provide training and job aids to managers and employees to support high-quality performance conversations.
Internal Communications
- Create and distribute timely internal communications, newsletters, announcements, and updates via multiple channels (Teams, SharePoint, email, digital displays).
- Develop graphics and visual content to support communications and campaigns.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and Community Engagement to align messaging with employer branding and outreach efforts.
Evaluate the effectiveness of communications and adjust strategies for maximum impact
Event Planning & Coordination
- Take ownership of planning and executing organizational events (e.g., service awards, town halls, picnics, holiday events, Blue & Green Day).
- Develop project plans, workback timelines, and coordinate logistics, vendors, and internal resources.
- Delegate event-related tasks to other People & Culture team members and ensure smooth execution.
Produce event summaries and lessons learned for future improvement.
Provides Cross-Functional Support to other areas of the People & Culture team as needed.
What You Will Bring:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Communications, Organizational Development, or related field.
- 3+ years experience in human resources, employee engagement, internal communications, or other relevant experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to create engaging content and facilitate discussions.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative, approachable style.
- High level of discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems, intranets, survey tools, and basic data reporting preferred.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and creatively solve problems.
