: Remote (travel to Headquarters in Arlington VA twice a year)

The
Engineering Manager, Treasury and Digital Experience Systems
will lead three engineering teams supporting critical systems within our financial services organization. This leadership position will focus on the delivery, reliability, and evolution of a
modern Java/AWS-based treasury system
and a
Java digital experience platform
, each with
robust user interfaces
.

Time Spent 80% People Management and 20% hands on technical direction
(Knowledgable in Full Stack Dev Work in Java - Spring Boot - AWS - Javascript (React and Angular) in AWS - comfortable doing 1:1 and performance reviews to help other managers grow.

What You Will Do:

Leadership & Strategy:

• Oversee three agile engineering teams (15 mostly backend Engineers), providing technical and professional guidance to ensure best practices in software development, testing, and deployment.
• Manage team performance, foster innovation, and drive continuous improvements to enhance the Salesforce platform, efficiency and functionality
• Collaborate with leadership and HR to continually refine and modify career growth and succession plans to meet changing business needs
• Lead hiring, performance management, compensation, and evaluation of team members

Project Management

• Drive planning, execution, and delivery of major projects—including a Java/AWS treasury system (with a user interface), a Backbase/Java digital banking application (with a UI), and a third cross-functional engineering team.

Strategic Ownership

• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, and Operations to shape the technical vision, prioritize features, and develop scalable solutions in line with business needs.

Technical Oversight

• Guide architectural decisions and maintain high standards for security, performance, and reliability across Java-based applications, AWS and cloud services, and UI/UX front-end frameworks.

Stakeholder Communication

• Act as the point of contact for business stakeholders, ensuring requirement alignment and maintaining transparency on progress, issues, and timelines.

Continuous Improvement

• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning. Identify opportunities to improve development processes, automation, and team capabilities.

What We're Looking For:

• 8+ years in software development with at least 4+ years managing engineering teams.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical teams and non-technical business stakeholders.
• Prior experience leading engineers working in both Java and perk for also Python.
• Ability to manage hybrid/remote teams effectively.
• Experience with compliance, audit, or secure software delivery frameworks.

Technical Skills

• Deep understanding of enterprise Java development.
• Proven experience with AWS services and cloud-native architectures.
• Prior experience in system design and architecture, handling complex scalable systems, Microservices, highly transactional etc.
• Hands-on background building or overseeing UI applications (React, Angular, or similar).

Leadership

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple engineering teams toward common objectives.
• Strong mentorship, coaching, and team-building skills.

Execution

• Track record of delivering complex projects in agile organizations.
• Skilled at managing competing priorities, project risks, and changing requirements.

Compensation:

• Competitive base salary ($170K - $193K - DOE) + 15% performance bonus paid out in March
