Maintenance Assistant Wash Technician

Job Summary

The Maintenance Assistant Wash Technician supports and reports to the Maintenance Wash Technician in maintaining and servicing all wash equipment. This role focuses on assisting with preventive maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and keeping the wash tunnel and equipment room operating efficiently. The Maintenance Assistant Wash Tech works closely with wash managers and team members to ensure a smooth and high-quality wash experience for customers. Success in this role requires attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to safety and company standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of car wash machinery and backroom equipment.
• Assist in supporting scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks across multiple car wash sites.
• Learn to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, piping, and pneumatic issues under supervision.
• Read and follow work orders, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and other equipment as directed.
• Follow all safety guidelines, procedures, and PPE requirements at all times.
• Help keep work areas organized and equipment clean.
• Assist in preventive maintenance routines with site wash managers and car wash attendants.
• Shadow and learn from senior maintenance technicians to develop technical skills.
• Communicate effectively with team members, wash managers, and management to support maintenance operations.
• Perform other maintenance and cleaning tasks as assigned.
• Attend management meeting with wash managers and director of operations (as needed).
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent or technical school certification.
• 1–2 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred (trade school or certifications a plus).
• Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or plumbing systems is a plus.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools; willingness to learn forklift operation.
• Strong willingness to learn, reliable, and flexible.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Positive attitude and adaptability to new processes and procedures.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and on-call hours.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be able to pass a background check.
• Comfortable with use an iPad and/or smartphone along with software applications such as Woven.
• Strong time management skills and experience with planning and troubleshooting.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, twist, perform repetitive motions, see variations in color, and climb and work from ladders.
• Must be able to work in a variety of circumstances, including those with high noise levels, humid and dry environments, hot and cold temperatures, both inside and outside.
• Requires to travel around the city to multiple sites as needed.

Pay: From $15.50 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
