Veterinary Oncology Center is looking for a thoughtful, dependable part time Veterinary Assistant to join our small but mighty clinic where we treat pets with cancer and support healthy pets to lower their cancer risk. What you'll do (typical responsibilities):

  • Safely restrain and handle patients for exams, treatments, and procedures.
  • Assist the doctor and technicians during exams, chemotherapy treatments, acupuncture, etc
  • Prepare and administer medications under supervision.
  • Collect and label samples (blood, urine, cytology) for submission to the lab.
  • Evaluate records and extract medical histories
  • Input medical information in the computer records
  • Participate in admission and release of patients
  • Perform kennel care, cleaning, and maintain a tidy, sanitary workspace.
  • Help with inventory, restocking, and basic clinic organization.
  • We train extensively

What we are looking for:

  • required - 1 year experience as a veterinary assistant
  • Deep compassion for animals and their families; emotional maturity when handling sensitive cases.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Good writing skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and organized.
  • Comfortable with physical work (lifting, handling pets of various sizes).
  • Willingness to learn and follow protocols carefully.
