Position Summary
The Resident Services Director oversees the delivery of high-quality care and services to all residents in accordance with state regulations, company policies, and individual care plans. This position supervises up to 30 care staff members, ensuring that each resident receives compassionate, professional, and consistent care. The Director recruits, trains, and develops qualified team members, coordinates with outside providers, and maintains open communication with residents, families, and the Administrator.
Education & Experience
Education: Bachelor's degree (required)
Experience: 3 – 5 years of progressive experience in assisted living, elderly care, or related healthcare setting
Prior supervisory or management experience overseeing teams of 20–30 employees
CNA or nursing background preferred
Key Responsibilities
Care Coordination
Communicate promptly any changes in resident condition to care staff.
Report significant changes or incidents to the Administrator.
Ensure care plans are properly followed and completed by staff.
Coordinate with home-health agencies, hospices, and outside providers to ensure services and documentation are completed.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident care.
Alert the Administrator to any complaints, issues, or changes in condition.
Care Staff Scheduling, Oversight & Development
Supervise and lead a care team of up to 30 employees, including caregivers and Med Techs.
Prepare and maintain caregiver schedules at least three (3) weeks in advance.
Ensure minimum staffing levels: five (5) caregivers on AM and PM shifts, three (3) on NOC.
Manage requests for time off and call-offs to ensure appropriate coverage.
Recruit, interview, and hire qualified care staff.
Oversee onboarding and orientation for all new hires.
Provide and/or coordinate training to ensure competency and regulatory compliance.
Conduct corrective actions, 90-day evaluations, and annual performance reviews.
Resident Care Plan Management
Collaborate with the Administrator to create and maintain resident care plans.
Update care plans:
Within 24 hours of move-in
After any change in condition
Annually for Assisted Living residents (with family/Administrator conference)
Every 6 months for Memory Care residents (with family/Administrator conference as needed)
Emergency Response
Respond to incidents and ensure proper emergency protocols are followed.
Coordinate with Med Techs and notify the Administrator and families as required.
Medication Management
Verify all received medications and ensure proper entry into the MAR.
Investigate and report medication errors immediately.
Complete monthly medication recap reports.
Ensure medications are administered, stored, and disposed of per regulations.
General
Partner closely with the Administrator to maintain safe, effective, and compliant care operations.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Administrator.

• Target salary: $70,000 – $75,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
