• Receives, reviews, and processes Death Cases opened by the automated PBI Interface Process and Benefit Information Services Bureau.
• Initiates Suspension/Termination process.
• Reviews reports to confirm a death utilizing internet searches of obituaries and/or Accurint Database.
• Initiates Reclamation process.
• Determines if a Mebel generated payment must be reclaimed.
• Rejects incomplete or unacceptable documentation.
• Analyzes death related documents for acceptance including Certified Copies and missing or incorrect information that does not match our records.

• One year of experience performing at least one of the following tasks: reconciling accounts, calculating payments, collecting and analyzing statistics and information, or explaining policy or benefit information to the public.Competitive Minimum Qualifications: You must be currently reachable on the appropriate eligible list for this title, or eligible to transfer to this title under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. • Ability to read, understand and interpret regulations, procedural manuals, and other documents used in routine office processing.
• Must be able to prepare, understand and interpret written materials.
• Must skilled in arithmetic reasoning and able to perform high level complex calculation.
• Ability to understand and use common office record keeping and filing systems and processes.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
