Join our dynamic team as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) on a 13-week travel contract in the vibrant community of Glendale CA In this exciting role, you will play a pivotal part in enhancing the lives of patients across various settings, including skilled nursing facilities and outpatient clinics. Your expertise will be essential in assisting patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and implementing tailored care plans. What you'll do
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) to promote independence and enhance quality of life.
- Collaborate with occupational therapists to develop and implement effective care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Provide therapy services in diverse environments, including home health, acute care, geriatrics, pediatrics, and outpatient clinics.
- Utilize your knowledge of physiology and anatomy to support patient rehabilitation and recovery processes.
- Conduct medical imaging assessments as needed to inform treatment strategies.
- Document patient progress accurately and maintain compliance with medical terminology standards.
- Engage in skilled nursing facility practices to ensure optimal patient outcomes in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Foster a positive environment that encourages patient participation and motivation throughout their therapy journey.
Basic qualifications
- Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology relevant to occupational therapy practices.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in home health, acute care, geriatrics, pediatrics, or skilled nursing facilities.
- Familiarity with developing care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Previous experience providing patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
