KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Creative Leadership

  • Manage and mentor a team of graphic designers, production artists, and freelancers.
  • Develop creative direction and visual strategies for client signage programs.
  • Review and approve all artwork to ensure visual consistency, technical accuracy, and brand alignment.

Project Oversight

  • Collaborate with sales, project management, and production departments to translate client needs into effective signage solutions.
  • Lead conceptual development, from initial sketches through to final print or fabrication files.
  • Review and distribute all art requests to Design Team.
  • Ensure all design deliverables meet deadlines, budget constraints, and production specifications.

Technical Knowledge

  • Oversee art file preparation for various fabrication methods including vinyl, digital printing, CNC routing, and illumination techniques.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, materials (e.g., acrylic, aluminum, foam, vinyl), and fabrication techniques.
  • Troubleshoot production challenges and advise on best practices to optimize design feasibility and durability.

Client & Vendor Collaboration

  • Participate in client presentations and design consultations as needed.
  • Coordinate with external vendors (e.g., print shops, fabricators) to ensure proper execution of design intent.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Visual Arts, or related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in the signage, print, or environmental graphics industry.
  • Proficient in CorelDraw and PhotoPaint, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and CAD or vector-based platforms.
  • Strong understanding of branding, typography, spatial design, and materials science.
  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Regularly required to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, or move throughout a production or fabrication facility.
  • Ability to lift and handle materials or samples weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to visually inspect signage proofs, samples, or installations for accuracy and quality.
  • May be required to climb ladders or use tools during design assessments or installation reviews.
