The Shorewood School District has an immediate need for a full time custodian to work under the direction of the Head Custodian and the Director of Buildings & Grounds. This is a benefits-eligible position with opportunities for advancement.

Our custodians are critical members of our building teams, responsible for keeping our schools safe, clean and organized for students and staff, as well as for community program use.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

- Cleanliness of all classrooms and other learning spaces, as well as school service/office areas, locker rooms, restrooms and other areas, as assigned by the supervisor including, but not limited to: sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, collecting garbage and recyclables, disinfecting, etc. ;

- Communication and team work with staff, residents and others regarding preparation and support for special events and school functions;

- Maintenance of building safety and security, including opening and locking rooms/buildings and performing ice/snow removal, as needed, and reporting all unsafe/unhealthy conditions and any incidents of damage/vandalism to a supervisor;

- Receipt of shipments (school supplies, furniture, etc.) and delivery in schools, as necessary; and

-Other duties as assigned, in a manner that will meet the standards established by the Superintendent and/or the District.
