We're seeking a highly productive Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer top join our growing team. This teammate ensures that engineering processes, systems, and products adhere to quality standards while aligning with the unique needs of the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) industry. This role involves designing and implementing testing procedures, identifying and resolving quality issues, and leveraging business domain expertise to enhance product reliability and client outcomes. The QA Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions meet both technical and business requirements.
Ideal candidates possess a comprehensive understanding of the Revenue Cycle Management lifecycle, including payer relationships, billing and collections processes, claims processes and workflows, denials, service line nuances, and placement file nuances. This individual will have deep knowledge of the RCM domain and will be intimately familiar with Aspirion ecosystem, including the business logic which drives workflows. This individual will have demonstrated hands-on experience navigating through the various business interfaces which our customers and business partners utilize. Additionally, the QA Engineer will index highly on 'attention to detail' where they will represent the end-user experience as they execute a diverse set of testing scenarios designed to increase overall quality of our products.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, document, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts specific to RCM workflows, including claims management, denial resolution, payment posting, and compliance tracking.
- Perform manual and automated testing of RCM platforms, systems, and integrations, ensuring they meet client needs and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, CMS standards).
- Identify, document, and track bugs and defects using issue-tracking systems, ensuring prompt resolution.
- Leverage deep understanding of the RCM lifecycle, including eligibility verification, coding accuracy, claims submission, and collections.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to validate that solutions address RCM-specific challenges such as payer rules, state Medicaid nuances, and Veterans Affairs billing.
- Provide insights on RCM best practices and regulatory requirements to guide product testing and development.
- Evaluate and improve QA processes to align with the evolving needs of the RCM domain.
- Implement domain-specific quality metrics to monitor and report on product performance.
- Work closely with development, engineering, and RCM domain experts to ensure business knowledge is embedded throughout the quality assurance process.
- Provide timely feedback on test results and quality issues, emphasizing RCM-specific use cases and impacts.
- Ensure all systems meet industry regulations, including HIPAA compliance, CMS guidelines, and data security standards.
Maintain detailed documentation for testing procedures, results, and quality assurance practices relevant to RCM operations.
Use automated testing tools and frameworks to improve efficiency and coverage for RCM-specific functionalities.
Stay informed about emerging QA tools and methodologies applicable to the RCM domain.
Requirements
- Comprehensive understanding of the Revenue Cycle Management lifecycle, including payer relationships, claims processes, denials, and collections.
- Familiarity with RCM-related compliance standards (HIPAA, CMS, and Medicaid-specific requirements).
- Proficiency in automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG) and familiarity with RCM-specific systems.
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git, Jenkins).
- Basic programming skills in languages like Python, Java, or C#.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex RCM-specific engineering problems and align solutions with business goals.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with engineering teams, RCM specialists, and stakeholders.
- Ability to translate technical findings into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field.
- Certifications such as ISTQB or equivalent are a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in a QA role, with a focus on RCM or healthcare IT systems.

The US base pay range for this position starts at $90,000 annually. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, education, training, licensure or certifications obtained. Market, location and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary, a competitive benefits package is offered.
