  • Shift: Nights (12-hour shifts, 6:30 PM–7:00 AM)
  • Hours/Week: 36 guaranteed
  • Unit: MS Cardiac ICU
  • Care Setting: Acute
  • Charting System: EPIC

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Care for patients with sepsis, STEMI, stroke, COVID, neurosurgery, renal failure, respiratory failure, DKA, and cancer
  • Manage advanced equipment including CRRT, Impella, EVDs, Camino monitors, and balloon pumps (not typically assigned to travelers)
  • Titrate and monitor drips: sedation, paralytics, pressors, antihypertensives, heparin, insulin
  • Interpret cardiac strips and collaborate with monitor techs
  • Participate in bedside shift reports and hourly rounding
  • Float to PCU and other inpatient units based on skillset
  • Embrace cultural diversity and deliver high-quality care to all patients

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience
  • Must be confident in titrating drips and managing complex medical conditions

Education & Certifications

  • BSN: Not required
  • License: Active RN license (submit-ready)
  • Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Knowledge & Skills

  • Skilled in critical thinking and clinical decision-making
  • Familiarity with EPIC EMR and advanced ICU equipment
  • Strong communication and adaptability in diverse patient care settings
  • Team-oriented with a positive, proactive attitude
