CBI Field Service Technician

Position Overview
In this role you will provide on-site and remote technical support on all aspects of CBI and similar type equipment. You will be expected to be a technical champion of said machinery to customers, dealers, engineering and executive leadership. Day to day duties include installing, troubleshooting, modifying, advising, training and repairing CBI and similar type equipment either in-person or remotely. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

•    Provide both on-site and remote technical support to CBI and similar type equipment. Including but not limited to:
o    Installing, aligning, balancing of new equipment.
o    Fitting, welding, machining, and repairing equipment as necessary.
o    Electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical diagnostics and troubleshooting. 
o    Compiling analytical data to assist and advise engineering on observed possible improvements.

•    Operate CBI provided service vehicles in a responsible manner, follow all Federal Motor Carrier requirements, and maintain proper licensures as needed.

•    Perform Start Up training to operators, dealers and maintenance personnel. Obtain required sign-off documents and return to CBI.

•    Provide technical support to the Sales Department on demonstrations, customer visits and conference calls.

•    Maintain accurate reports and tool truck inventory. Perform scheduled cycle counts and reconcile all discrepancies.

•    Maintain consistent communication with CBI's Service Department on current and future status. 

•    Lead and assist in making contacts with customers to solicit service sales.

•    Maintain a current working knowledge of all CBI equipment. Training sessions provided.

•    Provide technical training to internal and external personnel.

•    Always maintain a professional demeanor and appearance.

•    Normal working hours are approximately 8 AM to 5 PM, M-F, however, customer support needs will necessitate longer working days, overnight travel, as well as weekend work as required.

•    Submit all reports and paperwork on time in a timely manner. 

•    Extensive travel is required; both domestic and international.

•    Other duties as assigned 

Required Skills and Experience 

•    High school or technical school graduate

•    Technical problem-solving and mechanical troubleshooting skills

•    Good verbal communication skills with a strong emphasis on positive interpersonal skills during customer visits

•    Good written communication skills

•    Highly reliable and punctual

•    Personal tool inventory: hand tools to ¾"

•    Good driving record

•    Current Valid Driver's License

•    Basic computer literacy: E-mail and Microsoft Office 

•    Current Valid US Passport

Preferred Qualifications

• years' experience in large equipment field repair

•    CDL license

•    Technical degree/certificate in Electrical preferred

•    Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic best safety practices

•    Blueprint and low-voltage electrical/hydraulic schematic reading ability

Physical requirements

•    Adhere to all onsite PPE requirements 

•    Standing/moving in work area for long periods of time, up to 70% of the time 

•    Sitting at a desk or vehicle for long periods of time

•    Pushing/pulling while repairing machinery 

•    Bending/kneeling/crouching/crawling/laying to perform maintenance on machinery 

•    Lifting equipment/parts up to 40 pounds 

•    Working at height on occasion, ascending/descending ladder or stairs or on aerial work platform equipment 

•    Repetitive motions that may include the wrist, hands or fingers 

•    May occasionally face exposure to outside elements when repairing equipment in the field

•    May work with non-hazardous voltage 

•    May work with regulated chemicals (cleaning compounds, paint for touch-ups, hydraulic oil, diesel)
