The Maintenance Worker works under the general direction of the General Manager to ensure that all Park facilities are proactively maintained in good order and repair. The Maintenance Worker performs tasks and duties relating to the operations, inspection and maintenance of Park buildings, facilities, utilities, roads, lighting, vehicles, fences, pool grounds and landscape areas.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs inspection, general maintenance and repair of varied facilities, buildings, grounds and other assets of the Park.
  • Inspects and repairs plumbing, heating, electrical, mechanical and other equipment.
  • Conducts mornings rounds of the park to determine the existence of immediate concernsand ensures park systems are functioning normally.
  • Responds to member's need for emergency assistance.
  • Prepares work reports and inputs data into park systems concerning types of repairs made and materials used.
  • Recommends, and with approval, purchases parts, tools and supplies needed.
  • Makes sure that all member and staff issues are confidential, respecting member and staff privacy.
  • Ensures that equipment is in operational order; maintains appropriate maintenance supplies.
  • Reports issues and required repairs to General Manager.
  • Provides training and limited supervision to junior and/or seasonal employees.
  • Assists in planning and estimating materials and labor requirements for individual projects.
  • Reports to the General Manager on site compliance issues observed during daily operations by themselves or by crew members.

Knowledges, Abilities and Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of standard skilled trades operations and repair methods and the materials, tools and equipment used in landscaping, grounds and building work.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of building, facilities, utilities, grounds and landscaping maintenance, operations and construction practices and methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches and detailed drawings.
  • Ability to operate tools and equipment used in the work safely and effectively.
  • Ability to relate effectively with staff, the Board, members, guests, contractors and other service providers.
  • Ability to prepare and complete required work reports and documentation.
  • Able to perform physical laboring tasks that require bending, lifting and stretching.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • High School graduation.
  • A valid Driver's license.
