The mission of the Taneja College of Pharmacy is to Transform Health through educating students to be outstanding and successful practitioners and leaders in the profession; through leading in discovery and innovation of education and practice in pharmacy; and through delivering the highest quality care in diverse, interprofessional clinical and community settings.
Position Summary:
This position supports all prospective and current students pursuing the MS in Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology degree and Graduate Certificates. This is accomplished through in-person and virtual meetings to advise prospective and current students concerning matriculation, their academic plan and progress, choice of major/concentration, and future academic/career plans while ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures.
The recruiter/advisor has management and oversight of alumni communication, data tracking, and support for the coordination of program involvement and network development. This position assists in the development and implementation of all student-facing events/programs, including but not limited to recruitment events, new student orientation, research showcase, and internship workshops. The recruiter/advisor serves as the program liaison with the Office of Graduate Studies Round-Up Committee, Office of the Registrar, Office of International Services, and the Office of Admissions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recruit and advise students individually and/or with groups regarding the academic core and/or departmental requirements, and appropriate class selection for matriculation through the program. Advising will also include academic policies and procedures, and campus resources.
- Assist students with the identification of long-term goals and career plans and match those with the appropriate track or concentration, graduate certificate, and future academic or career guidance.
- Work to position students to meet requirements for graduation within appropriate periods of time.
Recruit special populations of students within the scope of responsibility, such as new or transfer students, undeclared majors, minority groups, etc., assisting in exploration of academic programs, and focusing on academic direction, procedures, policies, and available resources.
- Maintain advising and confidential student evaluation records.
- Develop and oversee all student communication for prospective and current students, including weekly advisor newsletters and channels through the Canvas advising site and targeted email campaigns for recruitment
- Create student testimonials for students nearing graduation for alumni data and career progression while using information for recruitment purposes. In collaboration with registration and records, facilitate individualized plans of study that support student progression.
- Assist with Admissions decisions for the master's program and graduate certificates and schedule requested student interviews. Manage all student files and lead orientation efforts each semester for newly admitted students.
- Assist the Assistant Director of Graduate Programs with academic support related to student needs, including developing/creating student or program data for annual reporting purposes. Gather various student data points related to program assessment or accreditation requirements.
- Assist the two student organizations, serving as front-line communication for officers, ensuring implementation of the Peer Mentoring program and seamless transitions of elections year to year.
Serve on appropriate department, college and/or campus advisory committees.
- Act as Graduate Programs liaison with Office of International Services, Office of the Registrar, Office of Graduate Studies and Office of Admissions by attending meetings and joining various communication channels.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field. Alternatively, in specialized academic areas, the position may require a degree in that field of study. Work experience may not be substituted for
the Bachelor's degree requirement for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in a related field. Reliability, dependability and the ability to work independently. Demonstrated ability to
collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external constituents at all levels are required. Knowledge of admissions and advising processes, strong oral and written communication skills,
the ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple priorities in a team atmosphere, and maintain confidentiality of information. Skill in exercising initiative,
resourcefulness, and sound judgment with an ability to solve problems and make decisions. Must have the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize
ongoing and new projects necessary to implement admissions, recruiting, and advising. Must have a solid understanding of process improvement and be able to anticipate needs. Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), CRM, marketing automation, Banner or similar student record system and SIS reports.
Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree.
