Overview

An Assistant Director at The Goddard School of Dedham is responsible for assisting in the management of the program and curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Observes all school rules and regulations and all local, state and national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety and care of children
  • Provides superior customer service to all external and internal customers
  • Assumes responsibility to manage operations of the school in the absence of Directors
  • Has a strong working knowledge of EEC regulations; contributes to the overall mission and success of the school. Acts as a role model ensuring regulatory and health & safety compliance in classrooms
  • Contributes to the overall success of the school with responsibilities including but not limited to open and close, classroom support, curriculum implementation, enrollment and marketing of the school
  • Creates a culture of engagement by empowering faculty members
  • Helps with the social media

General Qualifications

Meet the state qualifications and those set forth in the hiring standards including:

  • the ability to perform all of the responsibilities of a director;
  • the ability to interact closely with children at their level;
  • the ability to keep children within sight and sound supervision at all times;
  • the ability to change children's diapers and/or assist in toileting (where necessary);
  • the ability to understand and comply with the franchisee's employment policies;
  • the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with school personnel, children and parents;
  • the ability to handle crisis situations, including assisting in evacuating the building during emergencies; and
  • the ability to comply in all respects with all applicable laws and regulations relating to childcare.

Educational Qualifications

  • Management experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool
  • Director I or II Certification
  • Must be able to work between the hours of 7:00AM – 6:00PM
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
