URGENT HIRING: After-School Culinary Instructor (High School Program)

We are urgently seeking a dynamic and passionate Culinary Instructor to lead after-school cooking classes for high school students in San Jose, CA. The ideal candidate will bring energy, creativity, and culinary expertise to the kitchen, inspiring students to explore the art of cooking through fun, hands-on learning experiences.

Location: San Jose

Schedule: Every Monday & Wednesday, 3:50–4:50 PM (2 hours/week)

Start Date: Immediate – next week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver interactive lessons covering a range of cooking techniques and skills.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-managed kitchen environment.
  • Adapt recipes to accommodate dietary needs and promote healthy eating habits.
  • Provide and maintain personal cooking equipment for classroom use.
  • Collaborate with school staff to organize classes, workshops, and special events.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage growth.
  • Stay updated on current culinary trends to keep lessons engaging and relevant.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in the culinary arts; teaching or youth mentoring experience preferred.
  • Strong cooking, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to engage and inspire high school students in a creative learning environment.
  • Must have personal cooking supplies and equipment.
  • Familiarity with diverse cuisines and dietary needs.
  • Culinary certification or degree preferred; background check required.
