The selected intern will work with our AI Development Team to support various initiatives and projects, while gaining first-hand experience bringing real near-term measurable value through design, development, and implementation of AI/ML solutions. The intern will learn how to research and build AI/ML solutions from the bottom up through implementation of actionable metrics and a laser focus on improving patient outcomes.

This is not a hybrid position, requiring a presence in the office at least 4 days each week. Therefore, applicants must be in the Twin Cities for the duration of the internship.

OPPORTUNITIES YOU WILL HAVE IN THIS ROLE

• AI/ML research for early-stage product applications (data exploration/preparation, model research)
• Development of AI solutions for internal business process applications (customer engagement, data cleaning, building eval frameworks, prompt engineering, web app development)
• Expand an AI Center of Excellence through identification and democratization of high value use cases for AI

Required
WHAT YOU CAN BRING TO OUR GREAT TEAM

• Bachelor's Degree in AI or Machine Learning, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
• Pursuing a MS or PhD in a relevant field
• Basic understanding of the ML lifecycle and common ML libraries/tools/frameworks
• An innovative mindset for LLMs in your own processes and throughout your work
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Programming in Python (pandas/numpy)

Preferred

• Experience with LLMs (basic understanding of architecture, common applications like RAG)
• Signal processing (such as digital filtering of signals)

The salary for this position will be offered at a level consistent with the experience and qualifications of the candidate. This information reflects the anticipated salary range for this position at the time of posting. The salary range may be modified in the future and actual compensation may vary from the posting based on various factors such as geographic location, work experience, education and/or skill level.
